Prog Icon Neal Morse To Release Eagerly Anticipated New Solo Album 'Songs From November'

Cross Plains, TN – Much to the excitement of Prog fans worldwide, Neal Morse will be releasing his eagerly anticipated new solo album 'Songs From November' on Aug. 19, 2014! Even a style as broad and accepting as Progressive Rock has its boundaries. Prog icon Neal Morse decided to break that mold and create a challenging new album. 'Songs From November' may be his bravest outing to date. Musically, creatively, and production-wise, it's like nothing he's ever done. Can you handle it?! It's an album of "normal" songs! Songs even your friends might like!

Says Neal, "I listen to a lot of different kinds of music for various occasions…prog albums when I really want to focus on intricate music…sometimes jazz and classical. But many times I find myself attracted to 'feel good' singer-songwriter albums like a Jackson Browne or Graham Nash record. So one day I thought to myself…I'd like to make an album like that! 'Songs From November' is that album."

Morse wrote most of the songs during a flood of ideas in November, 2013. He recalls, "They just kept pouring out that month…I don't really know why…but it was great!" After the epic Transatlantic world tour was completed in March 2014, Morse set out to make 'November' a reality. And he would craft it differently than anything before.

Says Neal, "I could've gotten together with a bunch of studio musicians in Nashville and banged this thing out, but I felt like the thing to do was to get together with this young drummer named Gabe Klein and work on it as a team. He is only 18 years old and amazing! We had a great time recording these songs and many more. We actually recorded twice as many songs as we needed and picked the best ones. It was the first time I've ever done that and it was very fruitful. I sent out 21 songs to a bunch of different people that I trust and chose from their lists. So that was also a totally new approach for me."

The final 11 songs are among the best that Neal has ever composed – and the most surprising you will hear. In reinventing himself, he was ready to explore uncharted territory. Are you?

'Songs From November' is Produced by Neal Morse and Engineered and Mastered by Rich Mouser.

Russian Rock Duo MKRV Readies Their New Album 'W.A.Y.' For Worldwide Release on August 26, 2014

San Francisco, CA – Who cares about good music in Russia? Nobody, that's who. Once upon a time in the little town of Moscow, Dima, an up-and-coming singer/songwriter, composed simple songs and recorded them using the microphone from his gaming headphones. On one occasion his childhood friend Narek, who played piano and keyboards, decided to join him. Thus began the story of MKRV.

In 2011, MKRV recorded and released their first self-titled EP in Russia, featuring five original compositions. All of the songs were minimal in arrangement, without a typical rhythm section, but with interesting, creative melodies and a unique sound. One of the songs, Zeinabelle, was incredibly popular with its surprisingly retro feel, magnificent melody, and, unexpected for MKRV, a full string section.

With the release of their EP, MKRV realized that in Russia no such band had ever existed. Minimal instrumentation, immaculate English lyrics, a never-ending stream of beautiful melodies; these were all elements that at the time had been absent in pop-music in Russia. Shortly after, in 2012, the duo released a live EP comprised of covers of songs that they personally loved. From that moment MKRV's musical roots were clear – the intelligence of Brian Eno and contemplative nature of Coldplay, mixed with the passion for music of City and Colour.

In 2014, Narek moved to California to attend Pyramind, a music production school located in the SOMA district of San Francisco. MKRV had also just recorded their full-length LP/CD titled W.A.Y. During this time Bob also joined the duo, adding his guitar skills as well as mixing and mastering the album. Suddenly it appeared that by including a classic array of instruments in their music they could reinvigorate their identity. Furthermore, they let the world know that they were not going to stagnate in one place. They are continually developing their unique style, making it interesting for fans to follow.

The album begins with the song All this Time, which is in the best traditions of Paul Simon. The song Warmth Around You contains references to U2, and the instrumental Couple of Sparrows submerges the listener into a mysterious world of wind, loneliness, and concentration. MKRV doesn't speak much about themselves; the main thing worth our attention is their music. Why would we need anything else if all the answers to our questions can be found in the music itself? All you need to do is give them a listen.

MKRV produce their music to immerse the listener in an atmosphere of contemplation, warm memories, and reflective thoughts, which can sometimes be melancholic. These are the thoughts that make everyone a protagonist of the old movies, where the subject is love, friendship, and a path to find your real self.

MKRV's CD W.A.Y. will be released worldwide both digitally and physically on Tuesday, August 26th, 2014.

Visit MKRV's Website or Social Media pages for sound samples or more information about this release and future tour dates. www.mkrvmusic.com

Paul Di'Anno reveals the artwork and tracklist of "The Beast Arises" DVD!

The Beast is back! The original voice of Iron Maiden, and the front man of such bands as Killers, Battlezone and Gogmagog, arises to bring his fans a show of sheer heavy metal brutality! Paul Di'Anno returned to Poland in April to play a string of live shows. One of the shows -  at Lizard Club in Kraków on April, 9th - was recorded for the purposes of a live DVD release "The Beast Arises".

The material from the DVD captures a sensational live show in a club full of audience that would not let Di'Anno leave the stage for a long time. The release features mind-blowing performances of the classic material from the first two Iron Maiden studio albums, "Iron Maiden" and "Killers", as well as songs by Killers, Battlezone, and, to top it off, a fierce cover of Ramones' "Blitzkrieg Bop" – all this making for an outstanding show that will leave no fan in doubt that the Beast has truly risen! The DVD also includes an interview with Paul Di'Anno, a photo gallery and other extras.

"The Beast Arises" - tracklist:

1. Sanctuary
2. Purgatory
3. Wrathchild
4. Prowler
5. Marshall Lockjaw
6. Murders in the Rue Morgue
7. The Beast Arises
8. Children of Madness
9. Genghis Kahn
10. Remember Tomorrow
11. Charlotte the Harlot
12. Killers
13. Phantom of the Opera
14. Running Free
15. Transylvania
16. Iron Maiden
17. Blitzkrieg Bop

Bonus video:
Interview with Paul Di'Anno

Extras:

Discography
Desktop images

"The Beast Arises" has been set for release on October, 6th in Europe and October, 7th in North America (via MVD). Formats available: DVD, CD and double LP.
This English singer is best known as the first vocalist to record with the iconic band Iron Maiden, from 1978 to 1981. Despite world-wide success lurking just around the corner, Di'Anno departed from the band by the fall of 1981 (he's since admitted that he was partying a bit too hard around the time of his departure from Maiden). However, Di'Anno's unique and extremely powerful voice had made a huge impression on rock music fans the world over, and also gained him an army of fans due to the sales of more than 20 million copies of the first two Iron Maiden albums ("Iron Maiden" & "Killers") featuring Paul's unique vocal talent.
In his post-Maiden career, Di'Anno has issued numerous albums, both as a solo artist and as a member of such bands as Gogmagog, Battlezone and Killers, and he has been featured (either as the artist or as a guest) on more than 60 albums released world-wide.
As a confirmed icon of the metal genre Di'Anno is constantly gigging (with his various bands) throughout all of Europe, USA, Canada, Central & South America, Australia, Asia etc.
Di'Anno has even had time to have his first full sized and highly acclaimed Book/Autobiography released entitled "The Beast", which is a no holds barred journey through his turbulent and often disturbing car crash lifestyle, throughout the last two decades.
Although he only appeared on the first two Maiden albums, Maiden's work with Paul Di'Anno remains among metal's all-time finest, and to this day those two albums are idolized and thought of as "The All Time Classics" by most Metal fans and musicians alike throughout the World.

Randone and Ultreia is OUT NOW

Probably many Randone's fans will wonder why, this time, the digital edition
anticipates the traditional physical CD ... well, it's easy to say. This year I decided to go back to the "Camino de Santiago" with Maria Modica, lead singer of the band. "Our Way" will begin on 31 July from St. Jean Pied de Port and, for the occasion, we will present the new album in acoustic version with  ukulele and voices... this is the reason for launching the digital edition in August, because the month of August is a terrible time for ordinary (phisical) distributions.

Back to us. Below you will find the icons to purchase and download your copy of Ultreia from the best digital stores across the entire Internet. The first option, CD BABY, has a higher cost because it contains high-quality versions (FLAC) of all files; those who buy from CD BABY will also receive a coupon to order, for 5 €, the physical edition produced by Electromantic Music and distributed by Self in Italy and Maracash in the world, shipping from September 20.

NEW YORK, NY -Monday, July 28, 2014  -- The British progressive-rock pioneers Renaissance, featuring vocalist Annie Haslam, return to New York City this fall.  Acclaimed for fusing prog-rock with symphonic and classical influences, Renaissance will perform an evening of band classics along with highlights and debuts from their new album.

This will be Renaissance's fourth return visit to The Concert Hall in NYC, always selling out in advance. The acoustics of this historic century old space provide a pristine environment to showcase the lush textures of Renaissance's songs and Haslam's radiant five-octave range that once made them a staple of 1970s progressive rock radio.

A Symphony of Light, their first studio recording in over a decade, features songs that bathe the listener in flavors from far off countries, with orchestral arrangements and compelling lyrical content, with guest performances from Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) and John Wetton (Asia).

In a devastating turn, core Renaissance member Michael Dunford died prematurely in 2012 from a major cerebral hemorrhage after the album was finished.  A Symphony of Light is a testament to the unforgettable melodies, brilliant musicianship and love that Michael infused into his work.  The legacy of Renaissance moves forward in his honor.

Joining Annie Haslam in concert are keyboardist Rave Tesar and bassist/vocalist David J. Keyes, both of whom were previous members of Renaissance and the Annie Haslam Band. The band is joined by drummer  Frank Pagano, guest keyboardist Tom Brislin and recently added guitarist/vocalist Ryche Chlanda.  Together they revisit the symphonic textures, stunning vocals and poetic lyrics that embody the band's timeless music, and take everyone on a magical journey.

SOUL CAGES - "Moon"
The band SOUL CAGES comes from Hemer (Germany) and was formed in December 1990. All members played in several metal-bands (mostly Speed-/Thrash-Metal-bands) before. Cause of all different experiences in music of all members during the years and different influences and favorites of every person in the band, they joined each other and tried to create a more flexible, melodic and interesting style in music. So the music is influenced by lots of different kinds of music-styles and sounds. The aim of the band is to create a kind of sound in music, which you could describe as timeless - away from the trend during the time. The most important thing for the band is, that their songs get interesting sounds of harmonies in combination with the sound of lead-and backing-vocals. The creation of the untypical sound of music should knowingly show the listener different feelings. The realization is reflected in combination of the lyrics with the music.

Noturnall's debut album to be released on vinyl

The new Brazilian supergroup features ex-members of Angra and Shaman

Only seven months has passed since the band begun, but Noturnall already released an album that hit several sales records, played a 'sold-out' show at Carioca Club in Sao Paulo, shot its first DVD, launched three video clips, the most recent for a new recording of "Woman In Chains" of Tears For Fears, and was featured on all the major specialized media from Brazil.

In fact, we could not wait another repercussion than this considering that Noturnall is a supergroup formed by some of the most experienced and respected musicians of the Brazilian heavy metal scene, as the Shaman members Thiago Bianchi (vocal), Fernando Quesada (bass), Leo Mancini (guitar), Junior Carelli (keyboards) and the worldwide famous drummer Aquiles Priester (ex-Angra).

Recorded at Fusao VM&T Studios in Sao Paulo and at The Shanty Shack Studios in New Jersey (USA), Noturnall's debut album has as one of the producers the Symphony X and Adrenaline Mob vocalist, Russell Allen. The big news is that the album will now be released on vinyl in September by Mafer Records from Brazil. The pressing will be limited on 300 copies with gatefold sleeve and a deluxe booklet. As bonus track, the band's recording for "Woman In Chains" of Tears For Fears.

Midnight Masses Debut Album Departures out Now & Band Launches Short Film Now Here Is Nowhere

Midnight Masses, the band of Autry Fulbright (accompanied by Jason Reece) from ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, released their debut album Departures this week and to celebrate that, they've also released a short film entitled Now Here is Nowhere that was written by Fulbright and directed and produced by Natasha Kermani. The film stars Jaleel Bunton (TV On the Radio) who also contributed to the debut album and Walter Schreifels (Quicksand, Rival Schools, Gorilla Biscuits). All the music in the film is by Autry Fulbright, performed by Midnight Masses, including several tracks from the debut EP and album as well as exclusive material. This is the first installment of a series of films Fulbright plans to release and you can watch it below:

When asked about the film, Fulbright said...

"Now Here Is Nowhere is a visual counterpart to music I've been making as Midnight Masses for the past few years. It's a loose narrative about mythical religious figures (angels and demos as modern day poets) using mind-expanding substances as they stand on the brink of an existential apocalypse, and the continuous nomadic journey of artistic thought."

The band also recently released the video for the track "Broken Mirror" where Autry is joined on vocals by Dirty Projector's Haley Dekle and was premiered by Stereogum. Watch HERE: STEREOGUM Premiere "Broken Mirror"

If you missed it the first time around, the AV Club premiered "Am I A Nomad?" and you can listen to it HERE: AV Club Premiere "Am I A Nomad?"

Midnight Masses was started in the spring of 2008 by Autry Fulbright and Jason Reece shortly after the death of Autry's father. The sudden loss compelled him to seek solace through music and travel with his friends. One of his friends was Gerard Smith of TV On the Radio who had recently begun documenting various Brooklyn musicians in his home studio. Midnight Masses quickly grew from a bedroom project to a multi-media collective with a revolving cast of musicians, filmmakers, and visual artists with Jason Reece contributing when not occupied with ...And You Will Know Us by The Trail of Dead.

Midnight Masses is:
Autry Fulbright II
Hugo Vargas-Zesati
Jason Reece
Jordan Marecek

Guitar Hero Tommy Bolin's First Band Zephyr To See 1969 Debut Album Reissued On Both CD & Vinyl

Los Angeles, CA - Tommy Bolin fans, you are in for a treat! The 1969 recorded debut of the guitar great performing with his first major act, Zephyr, the blues and jazz influenced rock and roll steamroller fronted by powerhouse female vocalist, Candy Givens, will be reissued courtesy of Purple Pyramid Records starting August 5. With newly remixed and remastered audio created under the supervision of founding member David Givens, this gem of an album has truly been restored to the band's original vision. As Givens says, "For the first time you can hear what we heard before everything went wrong. I'm happy with the results!"

Happier still will be Bolin fans everywhere as a treasure trove of unreleased live material and studio improvisations were also uncovered in the process of remixing the album. These include performances of the band at small clubs in their home state of Colorado as well as Reed's Ranch where the band opened for The Grateful Dead. In addition, the studio rehearsals showcase Bolin's adventurous playing on two free form jams as he lays down blistering solos and eerie atmospheres courtesy of his Echoplex effect.

A limited edition 2,000 unit pressing of the reissue in a 3CD deluxe box set was released in May and has already been sold out, but a single disc version is set to arrive August 5 and a special 180 gram colored vinyl pressing will follow later this year.

Get a glimpse into the early salad days of this inimitable virtuoso whose rise to fame occurred nearly as fast as his untimely exit. His music lives on!

Imagery starts recording new album

The album will be successor of the highly acclaimed debut "The Inner Journey" distributed in Europe, USA and Asia by Cleopatra Records

The most dangerous power trio of the Brazilian progressive rock is back in the studios. Joceir Bertoni (vocal/guitar), Ricardo Fanucchi (bass) and Bruno Pamplona (vocal/drums) are already locked in Play Rec Pause Studios in Londrina/Brazil to record the new Imagery album.

Still untitled, the new effort will be the second of the band's career, successor of the highly acclaimed debut "The Inner Journey", that was nominated for Dynamite Prize as one of the "Best Brazilian Heavy Metal Albums" of 2012.

According to Joceir Bertoni, the moment for the recording of the second album could not be better.

"The release party of 'The Inner Journey' happened with a support show for Focus in 2012. We finished the tour for this album with two more wonderful shows with Focus in Curitiba and Florianopolis. This, added to the great feedback in terms of sales and also critical, in Brazil and abroad, have given us the motivation to start recording the new album with the best possible energy."

Joceir is really right on highlighting the feedback that "The Inner Journey" got on the media. After all, in numerous reviews the record received maximum rates, including Rock On Stage that also published that Imagery "owes nothing to bands such as Dream Theater." On international press the reception was not different. The U.S. site Critical Jazz stated that Imagery "is one of the few bands working in the field of progressive rock with the ability to keep the music fresh and revigorating."

Like in the debut, the production of the new album will be signed by the experienced Brazilian producer Julio Anizelli (Cluster Sisters, Mamaquilla, Terra Celta).

One of the tracks from the new album, titled "Blinded Nation", will be released as virtual single in a few months.

Primator: listen to the track that takes the name of the band

For five years on the road, traditional heavy metal band is well known on Sao Paulo nights

The city of Sao Paulo is perhaps the main home in terms of heavy metal in Brazil. If not enough big names that originate in the city as Angra, Korzus, Viper, Dr. Sin, Shaman, Noturnall, etc, we can also say that bands like Sepultura and Krisiun became known worldwide after moving to Sao Paulo.

Primator is the new name of heavy metal from Sao Paulo. With five years down the road, the band is already well known on the nights of Sao Paulo for several shows already made at major rock bars in the city as Manifesto, Blackmore, Dynamite Pub, Gillan's Inn, Cerveja Azul, among others.

After a great season of rehearsals, concerts and pre-production, the band reached a technical and creative level they deemed ideal for locking in the studio and begin recording the first album of its career. Produced by Daniel de Sa (Andragonia, Crossrock, Strip No Altar), Primator's debut album still hasn't a title defined but is already being recorded at GR Studios in Sao Paulo and its expected to reach the stores in the second half of 2014.

The song that takes the name of the band, "Primator", is available on the band's official Soundcloud channel.

Primator is formed by Rodrigo Sinopoli (vocal), Marcio Dassie (guitar), Diego Lima (guitar), Andre dos Anjos (bass) and Alexandre Birao (drums).

Derdian and "Human Reset"

DERDIAN: NEW ALBUM "HUMAN RESET"

V-Promotion is proud to announce the release of the new album of Derdian "Human Reset"

Derdian is a Symphonic Power Metal band born in 1998 in Milan, Italy.

Its music is the perfect fusion between symphonic orchestrations and heavy guitar riffs and drums which give the band a unique identity.

After two demos: "Revenge" (2001) and "Incitement" (2003), in 2004 the band signed its first agreement with Steelheart records and recorded the debut album "New Era pt.1".

In 2006 Derdian was contacted by the American label Magna Carta that proposed an agreement for two albums: "New Era pt.2 - War of the Gods" and "New Era

pt.3 - The Apocalypse". In 2013 the band decided to leave the fantasy genre and to deal with the most current issues of the human society.

The subsequent work , "Limbo" is the result of this new approach and it had such a broad international consensus that won a distribution contract in Asia with the

Japanese label Spiritual Beast.

By now the band is working on the promotion of their 5th album: "Human Reset" which will see the light in July 2014.

In live shows the band doesn't use any kind of backing tracks. This lets Derdian play an "old school" Heavy Metal style, without barriers and frippery.

The new album of Derdian "Human Reset " will be released in Asia the 23th July by Spiritual beast, and will be available in Europe and U.S.A. via www.derdian.com
