PARADISE LOST - TRAGIC ILLUSION 25 (THE RARITIES)

PRE-ORDER THE ALBUM HERE -

From the harrowing doom of their 1990 debut Lost Paradise, to 1991's genre-defining Gothic, to 1995's break-out masterpiece Draconian Times, to 1997's electronically-tinged One Second, to 2007's return to a heavier from In Requiem, to last year's opus Tragic Idol, PARADISE LOST has continued to evolve since their inception in 1988, inspiring countless artists throughout the years. To celebrate their influence on the scene, a special compilation will be released this fall to commemorate the band's 25th anniversary landmark.

Entitled Tragic Illusion 25 (The Rarities), this album will be released on October 21st in Europe (digitally on October 29th in North America) and features artwork by Parisian designer Valnoir, who has worked with artists such as ORPHANED LAND, MORBID ANGEL, WATAIN, and more than 150 others. All tracks found the compilation are previously released rarities - except the new track "Loneliness Remains" and newly recorded "Gothic 2013" and "Our Saviour 2013."

Tragic Illusion 25 (The Rarities) track-listing:

1. Loneliness Remains
2. Never Take Me Alive (SPEAR OF DESTINY cover version)
3. Ending Through Changes
4. The Last Fallen Saviour
5. Last Regret (Lost in Prague Orchestra Mix)
6. Faith Divides Us - Death Unites Us (Lost in Prague Orchestra Mix)
7. Cardinal Zero
8. Back On Disaster
9. Sons Of Perdition
10. Godless
11. Missing (EVERYTHING BUT THE GIRL cover version)
12. Silent In Heart
13. Gothic 2013
14. Our Saviour 2013

PARADISE LOST's Aaron Aedy (guitar) comments:
"The years surrounding our formation in the 20th century would have earmarked this as a B-sides collection. These were songs that were left over from an album recording session you couldn't fit on to the sound quality restrictive, optimal length of both sides of a vinyl LP. You then usually used these for the flip side of your single as a nice extra for fans and also perhaps, as an incentive for the collectors to purchase to help any important charting or sales which could facilitate radio airplay, the best and most important way for your band to be heard at the time. Yes my friends, it's hard to imagine now, there was a time before the internet!

A time when even during the recording and writing of songs for our 'Lost Paradise' album, tape trading demos and live tracks on the underground scene via mail (the real physical post kind!) were essential to a band's chance of being known by the people would 'get it'. The magazines Metal Hammer, Metal Forces and Kerrang! Also had a couple of champions of the underground scene too, helping bands like ourselves be known on a wider scale, but the rarer still indeed back then were the audio and visual outlets - in the UK we had the legendary 'Friday Rock Show with Tommy Vance' who introduced myself and many other to a lot of the bands they went on to love for life. Later, TV shows The Powerhour, Raw Power and of course Headbangers Ball on MTV. All of course, pre-empted that smorgasbord of information, the internet, for the discerning and hungry-for-more Rock music fan to feast upon.

Twenty-five years has seen a lot of change, not just musically for the band - take 'Our Saviour' and 'Faith Divides Us, Death Unites Us' for instance. The internet has broadened the choice of music we can readily hear enormously, and more importantly, hear and see for ourselves to form our own opinion - not just what the larger commercial companies and stations want us to hear!

Added to our extra tracks from the past, we've included the recent re-recordings of 'Gothic' and 'Our Saviour'. This is something as a musician you find a strange experience. We as a band have always been an album rather than a single band, and re-recording old songs is most often best left alone - but when we rehearsed 'Our Saviour', a song long lost from our live set for a good twenty years, we found it pretty exciting and fun! We decided before hitting the studio we would not record it as a perfect 21st century studio version, as I don't feel this song would benefit from it (in fact more so, lose it's original charm), but we decided to just do it quick and almost demo speed. Whilst recording to capture the most raw element, we drafted in our old friend and producer Simon Efemey, who worked on our 'Shades of God', 'Icon' and 'Draconian Times' recordings to capture this, which whilst working to make it sound raw, made it fun too! Don't think of the re-recordings as replacements for our originals, but just as five blokes having fun and re-visiting the past in the studio.

I hope this collection helps some of the people who like our music have more completed playlist of our most recent album sessions' songs. I personally am very pleased that 'The Last Fallen Saviour' is here, as I would love to have had that on the 'Tragic Idol' album. Also 'Cardinal Zero', which only just didn't make the cut for 'Faith Divides Us...' due to it have a very different vibe to the other album track. Both nonetheless, I feel are very strong songs and show a slightly different side to those writing periods.

CD and downloads not having a 'flip-side' or 'side B' had almost made that term redundant, but for a resurgent vinyl hardcore that has thankfully kept that one alive, I'm pleased to say. I often reminisce those teen years of travelling home excited on the bus with a new LP, reading all the lyrics, enjoying the large enough cover to make artwork intricately delightful and worthwhile. Great heart-warming memories for me indeed. Yet, the music new and old I'm discovering on the internet these days in the 21st century is an absolute joy! I'm pleased to have had both experiences during my years with PARADISE LOST and the future hold who knows what. I for one am very excited though to see where we go next!

Here's wishing everyone all the best from PARADISE LOST and most importantly, thank you very much from us all for your amazing support, which humbles us greatly.

Twenty-five years and counting!"

- Aaron Aedy (PARADISE LOST)

CHICAGO BASED PROGRESSIVE METAL BAND OCEANBORN ANNOUNCES “HIDDEN FROM THE WORLD” DEBUT ALBUM RELEASE SEPTEMBER 2013

A MUST LISTEN FOR ALL PROGRESSIVE METAL FANS, 'HIDDEN FROM THE WORLD' IS AN HOUR LONG EPIC DEBUT RELEASE BY OCEANBORN.

Hailing from Chicago, Oceanborn has confirmed the release of their full length debut for September 2013. The album was predominantly recorded in Chicago at the band's studio with drums being tracked by Chris King with Eyal Levi at Audiohammer Studios (Trivium, The Contortionist, Black Dahlia Murder, Daath, & more) in Sanford, FL. It was mixed by metal juggernaut Eyal Levi and mastered by Alan Douches of West West Side Music in New Windsor, NY.

"It was our initial goal to make a record that represented our influences, maintained a modern heavy metal sound and incorporated Lance's unique vocal style. I believe we definitely accomplished that and more!" - Dominick Camillo (guitarist, producer)

The album displays technical musicianship, catchy songwriting and polished production in an 11 track/hour long package. After the first listen, it is clear that the songs appeal to a vast audience. They have moments of technical prog mastery, moments of pop-rock sing-along catchiness and moments of soft ballad-esque moodiness all atop a foundation of heavy metal.

"We love music. We wrote and produced this entire record ourselves with the invaluable help of Eyal Levi on the recording and mixing end. We really wanted to showcase not only our songwriting capabilities but also put on our producer hats for the first release. This record sounds great because we dedicated the time and heart that we needed to make it that way." says Christopher Lee (guitarist, producer).

As part of a promotional campaign for the album release, the band has released an exclusive online graphic novel on their website (www.oceanbornmusic.com/web-comic/) that loosely follows the story behind the music and gives fans a chance to preview the music.

"To me, a webcomic is a bad ass way to share our music with listeners in a unique way and also showcase our prowess as artists as well. I've always been a comic book fan and it was a lot of fun getting to write lyrics and vocal melodies for this album." says Lance Ferrell (lyricist & vocalist)

A complete track listing of the album reads as follows:
Introduction
Still With You
The Descent
Lead Astray
Of Despair
Interlude
In Shadows
Lifting the Veil
These Darker Things
A Part of Nothing
Reprise

Oceanborn is a progressive metal band from Chicago, IL, USA. Oceanborn was formed by Christopher Lee and Dominick Camillo in 2010. Shorty after the writing began, Lance Ferrell joined as the lyricist and vocalist. After putting the band fully together and playing a number of shows in the midwestern US, the band released a self produced three song EP entitled, "The Descent EP" online in March of 2012 under the name Tattoo the Devil. After much debate and a couple of member changes, the band decided to change the name before releasing a significant amount of content.

The band's sound incorporates a blend of alternative rock, progressive rock, classical, jazz & latin into their heavy metal compositions. Many songs include strong dynamic shifts in feeling and/or genre blending.

Born into a musical family, Eyal was already playing violin and piano by the age of three, and composed his first symphonic work when he was just seventeen. In 1999 he attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, before leaving to return to his hometown of Atlanta in 2001 and found his own recording studio.

In 2010, Eyal moved to Orlando, Florida, where he joined forces with Jason Suecof (Trivium, Chimaira) and Mark Lewis (Deicide, DevilDriver) at Audiohammer Studios, helping to both expand and enrich their facilities by adding a magnificent drum room, two new control rooms, and sleeping quarters for the bands. As a part of the Audiohammer family, he's worked with such acts as Job for a Cowboy, August Burns Red, The Black Dahlia Murder, Six Feet Under, Carnifex, Whitechapel, I Killed The Prom Queen, The Contortionist, Motionless In White, Arsis, Demon Hunter, Firewind, and Charred Walls of the Damned.

One of the top engineers in the world, Alan Douches at West West Side Music has been polishing sound for the recording industry for more than 20 years.

After getting in touch with major record labels (Elektra, Caronline, Profile & Sony/Tri-Star), WWSM acquired a more elaborate recording/editing system to extend the possibilities of what WWSM could do and began working on post production (NHL, ESPN, TBS, Comcast Cabelvision) and digital editing (Monster Magnet for Caroline, Nudeswirl for Megaforce/Electra) which naturally lead to requests for Digital Audio Mastering Services.

Eventually, Alan made the move to Tenafly, NJ where he set up a full time Mastering studio in an old dentist office and has amassed over 10,000 mastering credits including Ben Folds Five, Converge, Sufjan Stevens, Misfits Box Set, Steve Evetts/Eric Rachel/Trax East, Channels, Mastodon, Everytime I Die, Clutch, Shadows Fall, & LCD Soundsystem to name a few.

RPWL - see the preview of their forthcoming live DVD

German art/prog rock band RPWL returns in late September with a brand new release. Their new live DVD entitled „A Show Beyond Man and Time"  features a special show recorded in February at Wyspiański Theater in Katowice, Poland, which was also the last complete performance of their most recent album "Beyond Man and Time" in Europe. The multi‐media live presentation of this concept album with its stunning show elements and musical virtuosity – expect an outstanding experience! In addition to the songs from „Beyond Man and Time", the show includes several „RPWL classics" and some surprises in the band's live set like "Roses" - one of the band's most popular songs performed together with Ray Wilson (ex-Genesis, Stiltskin)! The DVD will also include bonus materials such as an interview with band members.

And today you can see the preview of the DVD. It's available on Metal Mind Productions' YouTube channel in THIS location.

The release date of „A Show Beyond Man and Time" DVD is scheduled for September, 23th in Poland, September, 30th in Europe and October, 15th in USA (via MVD). The material from „A Show Beyond Man and Time" will be available in two formats: DVD and double CD DG.

The music of this German band definitely has its own style – modern yet also drawing from the best traditions of the prog-rock genre. All in all - brilliant compositions, catchy melodies, mature and intriguing sound!  The band was formed in 1997 in Freising, Germany as a Pink Floyd cover band. After three years they started creating their own music, based on their experience from their cover band era. Glorious reviews after the release of their debut album "God Has Failed" (2000), a successful tour through half of Europe, and appearances at various festivals left no doubt - the band had become a must-hear of the progressive/symphonic rock genre. In march 2002, RPWL released a follow-up album entitled "Trying to Kiss the Sun". With this album, the band emphatically shed off their reputation of a Pink-Floyd cover band and created a sound of their own. The band toured extensively through Germany and Europe, taking their shows to a new level with a quadraphonic sound system, which made their already huge live sound even more gigantic. Having published their album in the USA and South America, RPWL gained fans and recognition all over the world. In the next years, the band released the following studio albums: "Stock" (2003), „World Through My Eyes" (2005), "The RPWL Experience" (2008). „Beyond Man and Time" (2012) is their most recent album and it will make for the main part of their performance at Wyspiański Theater in Katowice.

PROGRESSIVE ROCK & PROGRESSIVE METAL - E-ZINE - Recommends

CHRIS RUDOLF - "Chris Rudolf"
His musical interests and influences are wide encompassing many genres of rock, jazz, classical, and various ethnic musics.  He composes, records and performs music in the progressive rock genre.   The styles of today's modern progressive metal bands and the retro groups representing glory days of progressive rock in the 1970's are a part of Chris' musical conception.    At the same time, his approach to music, composition and performance in the progressive rock genre is as likely to be inspired by French impressionist pianists as it is by acoustic fingerstyle guitarists and even the explorations of jazz improvisers. Chris just completed his first solo album, entitled Chris Rudolf.  On this recording he played electric and acoustic guitars, keyboards, bass guitar and sang all vocals.  He was also the recording engineer and producer.  This album is available as a CD or digital download from the Links page.  You can listen to samples on the Music page. Chris Rudolf is a member of the progressive rock band, Timelight.  The other members of Timelight, drummer Steve Lauer and bassist/keyboardist, Stevie Williams were also involved in the making of Chris' album.  Steve performed all the superb drumming and Stevie assisted with mixing and did the excellent final mastering.  Timelight performs many of the songs from this album in their live shows.

CIVICO 23 "Siero Progressivo"

A new young guest for "Locanda del Vento" (Lizard records side label) with a strong and magical hard-progressive sound:

CIVICO 23 is a new band from Rome, which has learned the fantastic historical lesson of Il Biglietto per L'Inferno, Museo Rosembach (about the actual prog band the closer reference can be Il Bacio della Medusa).
"Siero Progressivo" is the debut album, with a special pathos and new energy.

The histrionic singer Massimo Joe Galatone and all the musicians (2 guitars, keyboards, drums, bass) create epic songs like musical tales, talking about minstrels, knights, dragons, pirates, interstellar trips, apocalictic visions, ghosts.

Every track is a compelling hard-prog composition, with excellent riffs and nice vintage atmospheres (keyboards are important for a good balance of the sound), with fascinating slow-breaks in seventies style.
Impact, epic tension, magic!

Civico 23, a new italian prog name, already more than a promise!!

Tracks:
1. Umida Cenere                                 6'06''
2. Il Menestrello                                  1'47''

6. I Sette Angeli                                   7'28''

Lebowski & Markus Stockhausen - Goodbye My Joy

Goodbye My Joy – is a fruit of cooperation between Lebowski (the instrumental music specialists from Poland) and Markus Stockhausen, an icon of European Jazz. The artwork was created by a well-known photographer Wiktor Franko, which is also the author of the "Cinematic" album cover.

Markus Stockhausen is one of the most versatile musicians of our time. For about 25 years he collaborated closely with his father, the composer Karlheinz Stockhausen, who has composed many beautiful works for him. With his brother Simon he realised several internationally acclaimed musical projects.

As soloist, improviser and composer Markus Stockhausen is in international demand. He leads or collaborates in various jazz ensembles with musicians like Arild Andersen, Patrice Héral, Vladyslav Sendecki, Angelo Comisso, Christian Thomé, Terje Rypdal. His new group Eternal Voyage features musicians from India, Greece and Lebanon. Since February 2000 he directs a concert series called Klangvisionen with intuitive music in the church of St. Maternus in Cologne, together with Rolf Zavelberg, who does the artful light design.

As a composer he has received commissions from, among others, the RIAS chamber choir, The London Sinfonietta, the Orchestra d'Archi Italiana, the Winterthur Chamber Orchestra, the Cheltenham Music Festival and The 12 Cellists from the Berlin Philharmonic. In 2007 he wrote „Dancing Light" for trumpet, big band and string orchestra for the Swiss Jazz Orchestra and the Camerata Bern, as well as „Symbiosis", a double concerto for clarinet and trumpet with string orchestra, written for the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra.

Markus Stockhausen also composes for film, teaches in various situations and has released or participated in more than 60 CDs until now.

Standing Ovation and the album "The Antikythera Mechanism"

Standing Ovation released their album "The Antikythera Mechanism" through Inverse Records in November. Within just a few months the album has gotten recognition worldwide, and in their home country it hit the Indie charts as the fourth best-selling album. The album also climbed up to be the 20th best-selling album on the official Finnish album charts.

In Soundi, one of the biggest and most influential music magazines in Finland, Standing Ovation managed to get up into four different categories in their annual readers' poll.

Newcomer of the Year: 3th place

The band of the Year: 5th place

Album of the Year: 6th place

Best live artist: 14th place

Standing Ovation mixes genres skillfully, gluing everything together with a heavy, metallic touch and their own rugged style. The band's strength is that they don't really sound like any other band. Their music is a must-hear for fans of progressive music with metal elements.

As said before, Standing Ovation's anticipated album "The Antikythera Mechanism" has now seen the daylight. The album partly deals with the ancient, highly sophisticated machine and the story is spiced with historical and science fiction elements. The album also has a wide range of surely surprising songs and themes.

Maze Of Sound a new Polish the band are looking for a record label.

MAZE OF SOUND is a band created in February 2012 in Poland. The musicians have great stage and studio experience. They search for new music paths and borders between realism and surrealism, seriousness and grotesque.

Piotr Majewski - instrumenty klawiszowe, skrzypce
Kuba Olejnik - wokal
Rafał Galus - gitara
Krzysztof Karaszewski - gitara basowa
Krzysztof Szymański - perkusja

The music of MAZE OF SOUND is indeed a labyrinth of sound and each composition is a single story including theatrical and fantasy elements. During their unique performance nothing happens twice.

Currently, they have over 90 minutes of author’s music that is recorded in the studio and presented at the concerts.

Continually, they create new composition.

Since January 2013, Maze Of Sound have been promoting their studio Mini album ‘Man in the balloon’ including three pieces:

‘Rain charmer’  - music: Majewski,  lyrics: Majewski/Olejnik

‘Animal’  -  music: Galus,  lyrics: Olejnik

‘Man in the balloon’ – music: Majewski,  lyrics: Olejnik

The band have already appeared in such english and polish radio stations as:

Radio Stafford - Prog Mill (England), Radio ZŁOTE PRZEBOJE (Golden Hits - Poland), RadioLODZ, Radio PLANETA, Radio PARADA, Radio PiK,  Radio Alfa, Radio Proradio, RadioMegastacja, Radio ZAK, Radio UL, many Internet stations, music portals (Progrock, Artrock, MLWZ, Antyradio, Magnetoffon) and a local PROMOK TV.

They regularly perform in Poland. They gave concerts inter alia in many reputable music clubs in Lodz, Warsaw and Wroclaw. They also played some open air and charity concerts. In February 2013, Maze Of Sound performed in one of the most prestigious musical clubs in Poland – ‘Wytwornia’ for a  large audience (with Tune band).

Transmitted from a derelict space station in the far reaches of the galaxy using instruments salvaged from a cargo bay and corroding electrical terminals, 'A Day in the Life of a Universal Wanderer' is the latest album coming soon fromGandalf's Fist. Those lucky enough to intercept the signal on their primitive terrestrial audio-decoders, will be treated to a cosmic jam across space and time exploring a mythical figure from the 26th Century – 'The Universal Wanderer' - who's legend tells of a figure who has wandered the cosmos from the birth of existence to the end of time. Even when caught out of time and stranded beyond the borders of a decaying Black Hole, you can still expect Gandalf's Fist to deliver the goods with their unique brand of Medieval Space Rock! Tracks such as the epic doom-laden jazz of "The Nine Billion Names of God" fit perfectly alongside the anthemic choruses of "Stowaway to the Mushroom Planet" and the renaissance-whimsy of "The Battle for Tannhäuser Gate", creating one of the most engaging albums to be recorded from the far side of the solar system.

KARMAMOI - "Odd Trip"
Karmamoi came into being in 2008, out of the needs of Daniele Giovannoni and Serena Ciacci to give life to a musical project that could express their personalities and their concept of music. Where artistic endeavour, melody, electronic elements and rock distortions could cohabit and find a stable equilibrium, in an immediately recognizable sound compounded of passion and aggression. Clear ideas from the start, and from the start work by musicians capable of being in total harmony with the project. The circle was closed with the arrival of guitarists Fabio Tempesta and Alex Massari and bassist Alessandro Cefalì, who completed the line-up. In 2009 Karmamoi came into contact with Crisalide Edizioni, who believed in the project from the outset and together with the band began to work towards the release that summer of a single, "VENERE", which served as an outrider to test the responses of radio stations and the public – responses that turned out more than positive. "Venere" was broadcast by many independent stations even beyond the Alps, which led to the band taking part in the JIMI Festival de Marne in Paris. The band is working on new songs, due for release in the summer of 2013 in the format of a concept album: "The Odd Trip". A preview of the forthcoming and anticipated work by Karmamoi is the video of a song, "Labyrinth" – a sound-maze, an embrace of notes, instruments and melody, that makes Karmamoi one of the most intriguing new acts on the contemporary music scene. Stay tuned...

LIQUID CASING  - "A Separate Divide"
Liquid Casing was formed in Corpus Christi, TX by Alvaro, Matt, and Sean back in 1992.  As a three-piece, we wrote original songs and interspersed them amidst many cover songs.  There were few shows, fewer fans, and no deli trays.  However, music is a strange creature that lures many into doing its bidding with little material reward.  Songs such as Patria O' Muerte, Che, Come on Inside, and Bass 1959 were insatiably rocked out.  Around 1997, Sean departed the band, and the remaining members soldiered on as a two-piece.  This was new territory as there was no White Stripes to lead the way.  We were now just plain weird.  Void Lenses was released in the summer of 1997 on tape (pure analog!) and included 22 songs of horribly wonderous 4 track mayhem.  As a two-piece, several rocking shows were notched squarely in our belts.  By 1999, our sound and style had become more focused.  The song writing was tighter and more elaborate.  The sophomore album, Exiting the Infinite Corridor was released in the summer of '99.  We were poor, so the recording was as low budget as a band can get, single takes, no-overdubs, our parent's stereo equipment, enough said.  At this point, our shows started to become more dynamic (Alvaro rolling around on the ground....you get the point), and we started to branch out to other cities. n 2009, after many years of steadfast drum-pounding, Matt amicably parted ways with the band.  Liquid Casing scoured the Earth in search of anyone who could fit our ecclectic little band.  After several months, we found John Pitale knockin' on our door.  Since then, we have been playing shows all over Houston, and working on a new album to be released in Summer of '13. So come out and see one of our shows if you get a chance, you might enjoy yourself and roll around on the ground.

Fairport Convention Legend Judy Dyble To Release New Album 'Flow and Change' on Gonzo Multimedia

Judy Dyble's long-awaited new album, 'Flow and Change' is the follow-up to the much-acclaimed 'Talking With Strangers'.

Produced and mostly co-written by Alistair Murphy (The Curator) and with contributions from Matt Malley (Counting Crows), Julianne Regan (All About Eve), Pat Mastelotto (King Crimson) & Mike Mooney (Spiritualized), gorgeous string arrangements by Phil Toms and fabulous artwork by Catherine Hyde and Jackie Morris.

This is an album to make you smile and make you cry, remember what it was like to be very young but also to understand the art of aging gracefully. With songs ranging through diverse genres, but all held together by Judy's lyrics.

Sisterhood of Ruralists (edit) on YouTube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWfUqSI7jSo

Judy's past career has been eclectic. From being one of the original founding members of the extraordinary UK folk/rock band Fairport Convention, after the first and rockiest of their albums, she left to join with fellow London based musician, and later founder member of Foreigner, Ian McDonald.

Advertising in Melody Maker with the simple words "Judy Dyble requires brilliant and creative bass guitarist/vocalist and lead guitarist vocalist. Musicians only" resulted in a collaboration with the musicians who later collectively became King Crimson – Robert Fripp, Peter and Mike Giles.

Judy however moved on again after recording a few songs with them which later surfaced as 'The Brondesbury Tapes' and she became one half of the stunning, if short lived duo Trader Horne, whose eponymous (and only) long player 'Morning Way' is still considered to be a classic of its day.

After a short, but jolly collaboration with Lol Coxhill and Canterbury musicians Steve and Phil Miller as DC & the MBs, Judy promptly retired to the rolling English countryside to raise a family, until 30 years later she returned to music to create new music in a way that hadn't even been dreamed of in 1970. The internet had arrived in the intervening years and with it the ability to record remotely and seamlessly weave contributions from everywhere into a beautiful tapestry of songs. Thus 'Talking With Strangers' was born in 2009 and now 'Flow and Change' is released in 2013 on Gonzo Multimedia.

"My best yet, I reckon." - JD

GYRE ‘SECOND CIRCLE’ EP OUT NOW ON MONOLITHIC RECORDS

Gyre, New Jersey's emerging progressive metal outfit, has released its new EP 'Second Circle' today on Monolithic Records. 'Second Circle' can be downloaded now via the Monolithic Bandcamp at:

http://theironcouncil.bandcamp.com/album/second-circle.

Commented the band, "Everyone in Gyre is so excited to finally release our second EP 'Second Circle' through Monolithic Records. The music on the EP is a testament to five guys' year worth of frustration, learning, adapting and, ultimately, enjoyment and creation.

"We are so grateful to everyone at The Monolith for believing in us and showing us the support we were always looking for. We appreciate all the kind words we have received so far: from writers to people at shows, to family and friends. The positivity makes us want to create more and more.

"We understand that no band is an island. This band's journey off our little island has just begun. Our musical tentacle web is now in the weaving."

1.  All Revealing Eye

3.  Circle to Feed
4.  I, Receiving All

Recorded with Kevin Antressian at Backroom Studios (Dillinger Escape Plan, The Number 12 Looks Like You, Adrenaline Mob, Foxy Shazam), 'Second Circle' is inspired by T.S. Eliot's "The Wasteland" – feelings of all-destructiveness, delusion, disdain and the understanding that we must consume to produce.

"Listeners can expect progressive metal that does not lose sight of the power of structure and song, and an understanding that it is the connection between our emotions that really get messages across to audiences," added the band. "As Nietzsche said, 'In music the passions enjoy themselves.' Come enjoy our passion with us."

Gyre will continue to play live throughout the Northeast in support of the new EP.

Front cover illustration of the album was done by Jarek Ochendzan known also as Bisqp. "He has done the artwork for our previous album 'V.I.D.I'. Our co-operation has been fantastic so far as he is also responsible for the design of our posters, tshirts etc. The meaning of the artwork is clear, obvious and that's exactly what we wanted to achieve!" – comments band's guitarist Opath.

Leash Eye - Hard Truckin' Rock

Tracklist:

1. Fight The Monster
2. Me & Mr. Beam
3. The Nightmare Ain't Over
4. Passing Lane Blues
5. S.B.F. Anthem
6. Been Too Long
7. The Drag
8. On The Run
9. Twice Betrayed
10. The Age Ov Kosmotaur

Leash Eye call its own music as Hard Truckin' Rock. Technically speaking, it's a mixture of good old hard rock sound dating back to the 70's with scents of stoner metal and southern rock tradition. The core of the band's sound comprises of well embedded rhythm section ,mighty sound of guitars and distorted Hammond organs. The classical hard rocking vocal gives a nice finish to it all. This blend is bottled into one band playing 21st century style hard rock!

The band was founded by three friends, playing for their own enjoyment. As their musical goal, the band decided to follow the same road as the one chosen by Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Kyuss, Tool, Illusion, and Spiritual Beggars. In March 1999, the band recorded 5 songs, which were featured on their promo CD. The change of the lead singer in 2003 triggered also a change of their style - these days Leash Eye stands for melodious hard rock of the 70's, accompanied by heavy, modern sounds and classic vocals. In Autumn 2009, Leash Eye's debut album "V.E.N.I", featuring guest appearance of Riverside's Michał Łapaja on the Hammond organ, sees the light of day. The album met with the acclaim of both critics and listeners. The year 2010 is marked by intense work on new songs, which are to be included on the band's new full-length album. Ultimately, 10 out of 13 compositions are chosen and, in the beginning of 2011, the band enter Sound Division Studio in Warsaw to record their 2nd album "V.I.D.I.", with Behemoth's Orion as the producer and Vesania's Heinrich as sound engineer. Until now, the year 2011 was definitely the most successful year in Leash Eye's career. They won Antyradio's competition and, as a result, their right to perform at Sonisphere Festival next to Motorhead and Iron Maiden. Also, they represented Poland at Wacken Open Air festival, where they performed as the winners of Polish edition of Wacken Metal Battle. Also in 2011, they released their second full-length studio album "V.I.D.I.".

And still the best is yet to come. Their third studio album „Hard Truckin' Rock" is scheduled for release on October, 14th in Europe and November, 5th in USA (via MVD).
